SUMMER SCHOOL 2008

During August, our Academy once again hosted a fun filled 2 weeks of summer day camp. The dates for this year’s summer camp will be August 4th – 15th. Students 7 – 16 yrs. of age enjoyed our Theatre Arts program, experiencing classes in ballet, jazz, tap and musical theatre.  Adults participated in our evening workshops in Ballet, Jazz and Pilates. 

Staff

This year, pre-registration for fall classes begins on Monday May 5th at 4:00pm. We will also be accepting fall registrations during summer school, August 4th – 15th; 9:00 am – 3:00 pm.

The Dance Boutique will also be open during this time, for any dancewear supplies you may need to purchase.

ADULT CLASSES

Just a reminder that our academy offers a variety of wonderful options for adults wishing to take classes. In addition to our Jazz, Tap and Ballet programs, we also offer evening classes in Pilates and Hip Hop.

PERFORMANCES

It never ceases to amaze us how each year the qualilty of our junior and senior performances improve. Congratulations to all students and staff for another incredible year. Anyone wishing to purchase a videotape or DVD for the Junior or Senior performances, may fill out an order form at the studio front desk and mail it with a cheque payable to Wonderlizard Productions.

DRESS CODE

Students who are new to the academy should be aware of the dress code for the various classes.

Ballet: Girls: Black leotard, pink seamless tights and pink ballet slippers. Boys: Tight fitting white t-shirt, black shorts or dance pants, and black ballet slippers.

Jazz & Tap: Students may wear any appropriate tight fitting dance attire with jazz oxfords for jazz, and tap shoes with rubber soles for tap.

Hip Hop: Neat fitting street wear (not jeans), and split-sole dance Sneaker.

Special Training Ballet: Blue (Navy) tank leotard (available at the Dance Boutique) with white ankle socks (for Jr. Div. 1 & 11) and pink seamless tights (310 or 314 Mondor), for all other levels.

Competition Jazz: Black leotard style #3353 & 3354, sand tights and tan Bloch elasta bootie jazz shoes.

Competition Tap: Black leotard style #3353 & 3354, sand tights and black or tan tap shoes with rubber soles.

Sunday May 25, 2008: S.B.A.D. 2008 Annual Charity Golf Tournament. The tournament will taking place at Hidden Lake Golf Club in Burlington, Ont. (QEW to Brandt St. N. past Hwy 5 the first left) start time is 11:30am, the cost is $135.00 per person or $45.00 if you wish to join us for dinner only. Come alone or arrange your own foursome. Tickets available at the front desk.

Sunday June 15, 2008: LAST DAY OF REGULAR CLASSES

Thursday June 19, 2008 (7pm) & Sat. June 21, 2008 Matinee (2pm): JUNIOR PERFORMANCES (tickets required)

Friday June 20, 2008 (7pm) & Saturday June 21, 2008 (7pm): SENIOR PERFORMANCES (tickets required)

Summer Camp:The dates for this year’s summer camp will be August 4th – 15th. It is a great opportunity for students to sample ballet, jazz, tap and musical theatre. Classes run Monday to Friday from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. It is mandatory for all Competition and Special Training Division students to attend.
The dates for the Mississauga summer camp are August 11th – 22nd. For more information on this program, please call (905) 608-9120.

PLEASE NOTE

If a student’s regular class falls on a holiday, the student may take a makeup class either the week directly before or after the holiday. No credits or refunds are given for missed classes.
