The SEAN BOUTILIER ACADEMY OF DANCE Etobicoke location was established in 1983 followed by our Mississauga location in 1993. In a very short period of time the dance studios gained the reputation of being one of the more recognized Cecchetti based dance schools in the country for training students of all ages and levels of ability, in the discipline of dance. We have been recommended by the Ministry for Cultural Affairs as one of the highest quality studios in dance instrsuction.
The Academy offers classes in Ballet, Pointe, Contemporary, Jazz, Hip Hop Lyrical, Tap, Acrobatic and Musical Theatre. We offer adult dance classes in Ballet Sculpt, Ballet, Jazz and Tap. In 1991 it received recognition for its high standard of training from the government and became a Registered Educational Institution.
Whether teaching an appreciation and love for dance, or the professional dancers and teachers of tomorrow, the Academy keeps each individual’s goals in mind. Many of our students have gone on to continue their training in dance and related studies at such other highly recognized institutions as Juilliard, Joffery School, The Royal Winnipeg Ballet School, L’Ecole Superieure De Danse Du Quebec, The National Ballet School, Ryerson University and York University, as well as several international dance companies of world class status. One of our students, Denys Drozdyuk went on to be the 2010 first place winner of "So You Think You Can Dance Canada's favourite dancer".
